DNS URL Changes for your Web Site

Monday, March 14th, 2011

If you’d like to make changes to your existing web site DNS (domain name, meaning www.xxxx.org) settings with us, set up a new URL, launch your new site with us, or create a subdomain, we can help with that.

I am by no means anywhere near an expert on DNS (domain name, meaning www.xxxx.org) changes, but I can tell you this.

We need some notice. Ideally, a week. Minimum 48 hours.

Why? It takes DNS changes 24-48 hours to propagate throughout the internet. Sadly, there’s nothing we can do about this part. This means that changes are made, and then they must make their way throughout the internet. Some people will see them immediately, and some people won’t. It’s just the way it is.

Want to make changes on your own?
Great – but still let us know, so we can make any necessary adjustments on our side.
