KPLU is Live with Core Publisher

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Congratulations to KPLU! KPLU, a Core Publisher pilot station, has a new site!

While their Core Publisher site has been live as their news section for a few months, “The River”, is now their new home page, putting it front and center to further test the idea of building audience through online news.

Changed email addresses? New people at the station? Want to know what we’re up to?

Sign up for our email newsletters, weekly updates, monthly updates, and emails related to any service here (links also on your portal page and the main website):

  • Weekly Updates are sent, well, weekly and cover any and all related news and updates. We recommend this one.
  • Insider: Sent approximately monthly. Good if you want to stay in the loop, but don’t want email every week, or if you’re not yet a client. If you’re signing up for weekly, we also recommend that you sign up for the Insider too.
  • Modules and Services: Check off your interests, good if you use that service. We periodically sent out more specific emails, such as Composer Pro updates to those who have checked off Composer Pro.

ERPM, WSPR, Digital News Day

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

Are you heading to ERPM in Atlanta or WSPR in Las Vegas? Meet some of the star members of the PI team — Joe Orlando, Phil Johnson, Ki-Min Sung and Keith Hopper.

Both conferences are jam-packed with valuable sessions on diversity, growing the audience, increasing donations, and the landscape of Public Media in the future.

And, at both ERPM and WSPR, stations can participate in Digital News Day, and learn about best practices in digital news delivery. The Knight Digital Media Center partnered with NPR for several strategies and skills training sessions over the past year, and recently hosted a “Future of Local news and Public Media” summit for management teams of stations participating in the PI Core Pilot project. We have adapted the agenda to offer a one-day summit following both conferences.

PI’s own Keith Hopper and Ki-Min Sung will lead sessions on extending this new model to general news, see details here: http://core.publicinteractive.com/2010/10/digital-news-day-at-erpm/
