Composer Pro: Searching the Playlist Song Database

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

When adding or editing your playlists using Composer Pro, you now have the option to search the Song Database in two ways. In the Manage Playlists section, when adding a song to your playlist, you can:

  1. Search our station’s database: This searches for songs entered by anyone at your station only. HINT: Much faster search.
  2. Search the full database: This searches the entire song database which contains songs entered by all stations. More comprehensive, but also slower.
  3. Add Songs Manually: This option is still available. HINT: It helps you build your database. Add song manually once, then search for it the next time.

Then proceed as usual.

  • Enter at least one character in both the Name and Song Title fields.
  • Click the Search for Song button at the bottom of the page. The system searches and displays all matches.

Public Events: Limited Access User Accounts

Monday, October 25th, 2010

Any user can enter an event when they visit your events calendar. For venues that enter events frequently, consider setting up a limited access account for them. This allows them to enter and edit their event info more quickly.

To increase efficiency and reduce your data entry, consider creating separate user accounts for local arts organizations to access your Public Events calendar.

Simply create a username and password for each organization, and choose level of access. When they log in to Events Admin, they’ll be able to enter and edit new event information, minimizing your data entry, particularly making edits to events.

  • You decide if you want their events data to post to a pending area for your review, or go live automatically.
  • You control the passwords and level of access.
  • They can enter and edit their event info.

NewsRoom: Editing Stories That Aren’t Live

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

Say you published a story, and you set it to go live tomorrow, but you realized you need to make an edit. But it’s not live, so you’re not seeing it listed in the section yet.

You can find stories that are dated ahead by searching for them.

  • Log into your NewsRoom Admin
  • Click on Search and Edit Articles
  • Click Search
  • The most recently added local story will appear at the top of the list
  • NOTE: The database does need to re-index before the search results will show your latest article, but this should take no more than 20-30 minutes.
